What steps do I need to take to qualify for the subsidized rate?
You are a CAF or MSA beneficiary You are not a CAF or MSA beneficiary

You must go to the AltiGo sales office at Place de Suse in Briançon with the following:

  • Your CAF or MSA payment statement issued within the last 3 months;
  • A valid form of identification.

Only the payment certificate will be accepted; the family quotient certificate will be rejected because it does not list the names of family members.

You must go to the CCAS in your municipality of residence, bringing:

  • Your tax return from the previous year;
  • A valid form of identification;
  • Family record book.

An agent will issue you a family quotient certificate.

What is the family quotient?

The family quotient (QF) serves as the basis for calculations by various public agencies. It determines eligibility for certain benefits, such as public transportation.

Where can I find my family quotient?

You can find your Family Quotient in your CAF account at www.caf.fr or your MSA

account

at www.msa.fr

Using your tax notice from the previous year (N-1), you can run a simulation using the following calculation:

(Taxable income / 12) / Number of family shares

How is the family quotient calculated?
You are a CAF or MSA beneficiaryYou are not a CAF or MSA beneficiary

The CAF and MSA calculate the QF on a monthly basis using the net taxable income from year N-2 and the amount of benefits paid. The calculation is as follows:

((annual taxable income - social tax deductions)/12) + monthly benefits / number of household members

You must go to the CCAS in your municipality of residence, bringing your tax notice from year N-1 and your family record book. An agent will issue you a QF certificate based on the following calculation:

(Reference taxable income / 12) / Number of shares

What do the shares represent?

Family situations and the number of shares are assessed differently by the CAF and the tax authorities. You will find these different correspondences in the following table:

Who decides to implement the solidarity-based pricing policy?

The Briançonnais Community of Municipalities has served as the Mobility Organizing Authority since July 2021. As such, it oversees the organization of public transportation and determines the applicable fare structure and any changes to it.

Who is eligible for the solidarity-based pricing plan?

To qualify for the solidarity-based rate, your Family Income Quotient—as determined by the CAF or calculated using your tax notice—must be €780 or less. Eligibility for the solidarity-based rate applies for a period of 12 months to all members of the household.

How often must supporting documents be provided?

Since your circumstances may change, you must submit supporting documents every year.

Why eliminate free public transportation?

Previously, free access was offered to a limited number of users, based on their individual status.

From now on, the solidarity-based pricing system is fairer and more equitable because it takes into account the household’s total income. As a result, a larger number of families will be able to benefit from reduced rates.
